Rockfield School

Rockfield N.S. is a two teacher co-ed, rural school, located on the Ballyshannon to Belleek Road.  Parents and Guardians are very supportive of the school and take a keen interest in the children’s education.

The school dates back to the 1800’s.  The present day building was built in 1976 and an extension was added in 2001.  The school comprised of two large area classrooms with integrated children’s toilets, cloakroom, two storerooms, an office, staff toilet with wheelchair access, a multi-purpose room used for Special Education Teaching, library and staffroom. We also have access to the newly constructed community hall on site.  This is a wonderful resource for the school. The school is surrounded with a large play area.   The children participate in Christmas concerts, Science exhibitions, Cuman na mBunscol tournaments, quizzes, Allingham Arts Society, handball tournaments, athletics and we have been awarded with our first Active Flag in 2016.  We have a keen interest in the environment and have achieved our 7thGreen Flag.
